Strange Happenings Empty Strange Happenings

Post by eljay Fri Nov 30, 2007 8:55 am

I got up this morning--at 5AM mind you...because today Sears opens at 7AM. Why? Because they can. I came downstairs and was trying to access Plime...well we know how that turned out, when I heard the strangest sound. It was a tapping sound on my window. I thought maybe birds were walking on it...it's a greenhouse window. Nope not birds, even they are still asleep. Little green men? Nope...no weird lights or sounds other than the strange tapping. Then I finally realize, it is a rare thing seen here in CA.... Exclamation rain! I haven't seen rain since mid September and it was barely enough to call it rain. It is all the buzz on the news. You know you live in CA when RAIN is the big story.

Sort of the opposite here in the UK at the moment - at typical exchange may well go:

"Damn, this rain."
"What rain?"
"It's raining."
"Really? I hadn't noticed."
"You're standing outside in it."
"So it is - you just get used to these things, I guess."
"You're naked."
"I know. Naked and wet."
"Don't touch me."

Well, maybe not the last part. But you get the idea. It's been raining a lot here recently.

Oh, I believe the last part all right, considering the source. Razz
